About the
Arizona Housing Fund.
A dedicated, sustainable funding source for the nonprofits building permanent affordable supportive housing across Arizona — since 2019.
A dedicated revenue source
for permanent housing.
The Arizona Housing Fund is a collaborative fund of the Arizona Community Foundation (EIN: 86-0348306). We exist as a dedicated and sustainable revenue source that grants funding to the nonprofit agencies that build and operate permanent supportive, low-income and working poor housing.
Our equity grants enable more housing units to be constructed — meeting the growing needs of communities across Arizona and reducing the number of people experiencing homelessness.
AZHF was founded in 2019 and has grown into a network of 65+ partner organizations, granting more than $1.9M+ to fund 640+ housing units to date.
“Arizona working together to make a difference — one closing, one lease application, one donation at a time.”
Three revenue streams.
One mission.
Arizona's real estate industry drives this program. Homebuilders, developers, real estate agents & brokers, title companies, buyers and sellers all voluntarily participate at the close of escrow.
Example: A Realtor represents a buyer or seller in the sale of a home. At closing, the Realtor and their client each donate $25 to the AZHF through the title company.
Multifamily housing companies donate $5 per rental application to AZHF. Rental applicants and residents can also choose to participate — turning everyday housing transactions into lasting community investment.
Ask to your property manager: "Does your company participate in the AZHF Lease Application Program?" Companies can enroll at any time.
Individuals, families, public and private foundations, nonprofit and for-profit corporations, community groups and government bodies give directly to AZHF. All donations are tax-deductible and go directly toward building more housing units.

From donor to deed —
how your contribution builds housing.
Donors give to AZHF through the Arizona Community Foundation, or homebuilders, developers, real estate agents & brokers, buyers, sellers and title companies donate through the Escrow Donation Program at closing. All donations are deposited in the AZHF fund at the Arizona Community Foundation.
Arizona nonprofits that own or operate permanent supportive, low-income and working poor housing units apply for grant funding from the Arizona Housing Fund (AZHF).
The AZHF Advisory Committee reviews applications and selects projects for funding, ensuring projects are aligned with our mission.
Funds are distributed to qualified AZ nonprofits. Construction begins. More affordable housing units with wraparound services enter the market and more families and individuals find stability.
Advisory Committee
